Certified Medical Board Licensing Specialist (CMBLS) Program

The course consists of 9 sessions, with the first 8 being online modules. The online modules are anticipated to run for two hours. The final session is an in-person seminar. Participants need to attend all sessions.   In addition, participants will be expected to complete some work between sessions (1 to 2 hours per month). Missing more than one session or not completing the extra work will result in the participant not being invited to the final session.

Executive Directors can nominate a member of their staff for participation by sending an email to aim@docboard.org. Recommendations should include:

• The name of the licensing specialist;
• The email address and phone number of the specialist;
• The length of time the licensing specialist has been in the position;
• Confirmation that the licensing specialist will have time and support to complete the sessions and extra work; and
• Confirmation that your Board will allow the licensing specialist to travel to the in-person event and will cover the travel costs.

Participants will be selected to give the group a wide range of diversity in geography and board size.

This year's CMBLS Program started in January 2025.
