Fall Executive Workshop

All Executive Directors and Deputies welcome!

CMBE Certification is not required to attend either day

Hotel Information: We will be holding our meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Historic District at 321 West Bay Street. Due to the challenges of changing hotel rooms mid-week, the AIM Foundation will be providing a rooming list to the hotel and covering 1-2 nights of room fees and tax for our attendees. Please use the registration form to indicate your check in and out date for AIM’s room block at the Hilton.

We will begin at 7:30 AM both days and adjourn at 5:00 PM. Breakfast and lunch will be provided both Wednesday and Thursday.

8:15am – 8:45am Welcome to Georgia and brief presentation from the Georgia Composite Medical Board - Jason S. Jones Executive Director of Georgia Composite Medical Board

8:45am – 9:45am Navigating Compact Licensure - Nahale Kalfas, Counsel of State Governments, This session will cover the intricacies of interstate compacts, focusing on joint investigations and the coordination of disciplinary actions across state lines. Gain valuable insights into the legal and procedural frameworks that guide compact collaboration, ensuring effective regulation and public protection in a multi-state context.

10:00am – 12:00pm Sexual Misconduct Investigations and Redirection - Michael Fogel, PsyD, ReDirect Risk to reduce incidents of sexual misconduct through a scientific, trauma-informed, and objective approach. A presentation on how to change how sexual misconduct cases are viewed while achieving the goal of protection of the public.

2:30pm – 3:30pm Artificial Investigations: Harnessing AI to Revolutionize Medical Board Oversight

3:45pm – 4:15pm Opioid Prescribing, Prescription Drug Investigations, and Diversion - Dr. Donnie Sullivan, a presentation on opioid prescribing and conducting comprehensive investigations for fraud, waste, and abuse.

Topics include: Future Trends in Medical Regulation including AI, Med Spas, IV Hydration Clinics, Peptides, and GLP-1s, handling outside criticism of licensing and regulation.
